Lambert, Dale A.

Dale A. Lambert is a Washington native who was born in Seattle, raised in the Puget Sound region, and graduated in 1960 from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, Washington. Lambert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education with a double major in History and Geography from Central Washington University in 1964. That same year, he was nominated as Central Washington University's candidate for the prestigious Danforth Fellowship. As a National Science Foundation Fellow, Lambert achieved two master degrees in 1973, with a M.S. in Economics and a M.A. in Geography at the University of Missouri (Columbia). Lambert won various fellowships in diverse academic studies, including Southeast Asian Studies (CWU), World Regional Geography (Central Missouri State University), Ecology and the Environment (Texas A&M University), Economics of Energy (Seattle Pacific University), and International Economics and Trade (Battelle Research Center - Seattle).

During the past 50 years, Lambert has been a dedicated employee of the Eastmont School District as a Social Studies teacher at the secondary level from 1964 to 2013 and as the Advanced Placement Coordinator from 1984 to 2014. Lambert taught Pacific Northwest History, Rights and Responsibilities/American Government, Contemporary World Problems, World History, Advanced Placement U.S. History, Advanced Placement Micro-Economics and Advanced Placement Macro-Economics. In addition to being a classroom teacher, Lambert was the Enrichment Program Director, Advanced Placement instructor, Social Studies Department Chairperson, and District Coordinator for Social Studies.

Throughout his 42-year career as a Social Studies educator, Lambert received numerous honors and awards. In 1980, he was a member of the inaugural group of North American educators who toured Japan as a National Council for Social Studies and Japan Institute of Social and Economic Affairs Fellow. The University of Washington History Department awarded Lambert their prestigious 1987 Teacher of the Year award. Lambert was the Washington State representative for classroom teachers on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) in Portland, Oregon from 1984 to 1990. He was also the lone classroom teacher representative on the National Task Force on Rural Education. He twice received the Eastmont High School Teacher of the Year award.

In addition to teaching at the secondary level for the Eastmont School District for over forty years, Lambert has also been an Adjunct Professor at Wenatchee Valley College. From 1974 to the present, Lambert has taught a variety of college courses in History, Political Science, Geography, Ecology and Economics. Although Lambert's first love was being a classroom teacher, he still found time to continue researching and writing. Since the mid-70's, Lambert has been a contributor and author to several research projects and educational programs at the local, regional, and statewide level. Along with his dedication to education, teaching, and writing Lambert is recognized as an accomplished and highly successful coach of basketball, football, and baseball for the Eastmont School District, Wenatchee Valley Community College, and his community for more than 41 years.

Now semi-retired, Lambert remains an active researcher, author, publisher and businessman, who presents Social Studies seminars, workshops, and in-service calls. When he’s not working, Lambert enjoys visiting his five children and their families and attending his seven grandchildren’s activities and events around the country with his wife of more than 47 years, Kathy.
