Q. Our adoption timeframe will take longer than 30 days, may we preview your text for longer than 30 days without being charged?

A. Yes, we frequently approve extensions for school districts going through an adoption process. Please contact our office and we’ll gladly oblige.


Q. Could you provide references or a list of schools and districts that are using your educational materials?

A. Yes, feel free to contact our office anytime for that information.


Q. Why are your textbooks recommended more than any others presently on the market?

A. Directed Media Incorporated textbook publishing company has one focus ~ creating superior educational materials for teachers and students taking the required courses of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho state history. We are your regional in-state local publisher situated in the heartland of Washington State. Our authors and staff reside within the Pacific Northwest and are very familiar with the region. This is our home. Q. Do your textbooks and teacher materials meet Washington State K-12 Social Studies learning standards or EALRs (Essential Academic Learning Requirements) and the recommended Scope and Sequence or GLEs (Grade Level Expectations) standards?

A. Yes. Our texts are closely aligned with the Washington State K-12 Social Studies guidelines. Washington: Past and PresentWashington: A State of Contrasts and The Pacific Northwest: Past, Present and Future, each meet the state guidelines. Both Idaho and Oregon have approved and support our textbook, The Pacific Northwest: Past, Present, and Future, 5th Edition for their statewide adoptions.


Q. If we order your textbooks how long would it take to receive our order?

A. We fill and ship orders the same day the purchase order is received or the next day unless the order specifies otherwise. Small orders are shipped via USPS and larger orders go via FedEx or UPS.


Q. Your textbooks have questions at the end of each chapter. Do you provide answers to those questions?

A. Yes, those answers are found within our teacher manuals and instructional resource packets. These large three-ring binders are jam packed with 400-500 reproducible pages that provide everything to make the teacher’s task easier. One stop shopping.


Q. Do you have an ESL Washington State History textbook for Spanish speaking students?

A. Yes, that book is entitled: Washington: Our Land Nuestra Tierra by Sarita McReynolds.

 
Q. Do you provide your textbooks and teacher materials electronically on a link basis for district use? What do you charge for this service?

A. Yes. Please inquire by calling Directed Media.


Q. Do you sell CDs or DVDs of your products?

A. Yes we do for some of our products. Please contact Directed Media.

 
Q. What grade level are your textbooks geared for?

A. We have Washington State history textbooks - Washington: Past and Present and Washington: A State of Contrasts for both elementary and secondary level students. For Oregon and Idaho we sell the textbook - The Pacific Northwest: Past, Present and Future for secondary grade level students.


Q. Do you accept credit cards? 

A. Yes. We accept all major credit cards.

 

Q. How do you like to be paid by schools?

A. If you provide a purchase order number you will be invoiced and expected to pay within 30 days. Otherwise we would accept payment in advance via check for orders without a purchase order number.


Q. What do you charge for shipping and handling fees?

A. For all school districts, businesses, etc. that submit a purchase order - a flat shipping and handling fee of $15.00 is applied to all orders under $60.00, otherwise our shipping and handling rate is 15 percent for all purchase orders. All purchases made directly on our website will be charged shipping rates automatically generated by USPS or UPS and will be applied to your cart at checkout.
